Trade and economic cooperation

Trade and economic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Mongolia are governed by the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Mongolia on Trade and Economic Cooperation dated January 24, 1992 (entered into force on January 24, 1992); the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Mongolia on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments dated May 28, 2001 (entered into force on January 27, 2002); and the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Mongolia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Property dated May 28, 2001 (entered into force on March 12, 2007).

A preferential trade regime with Mongolia will be introduced on July 22, 2026, under the Interim Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Mongolia, signed on June 27, 2025, in Minsk.

Furthermore, the Joint Belarus-Mongolia Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation has been active since 2013.

On June 1, 2026, the 8th meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Mongolian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Minsk, co-chaired by the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus A. Kuznetsov and Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Ts. Iderbat.

Bilateral meetings of the Working Group on Agricultural Cooperation and the Belarus-Mongolia Commission on International Road Transport are held regularly.

The coordination of scientific and technical cooperation development is carried out within the framework of the Joint Belarus-Mongolia Commission on Cooperation in Science and Technology.
